Call for Applications
1st International Master Class on Computational Sustainability

Location: Biocenter, University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark
Date: July 4, 2012

Computational Sustainability is a new research field that explores on computational methods for balancing environmental, economic, and societal needs for a sustainable future. It investigates the major problem domains that impact global sustainability, those technologies and processes that offer the greatest opportunity to increase sustainability in these domains, and the fundamental computational methods that support these technologies and processes.

The 1st International Master Class on Computational Sustainability, to be held immediately preceding the 3rd International Conference on Computational Sustainability (CompSust'12), is primarily intended for PhD students, researchers and practitioners. It aims to present the state-of-the-art of Computational Sustainability, providing high level tutorials by top-level researchers. These talks, covering mainstream computational sustainability research directions, will give an overview of Computational Sustainability classical and recent results. A computational background is recommended for attendance at the Master Class. Limited funds will be available for covering some PhD student registration fees.

The CompSust'12 conference will take place on July 5-6, 2012, following the Master Class. Master Class participants are encouraged to attend CompSust'12, a major forum on the topic.
